Theranuvo (“we,” “us,” “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal and health information through our website, mobile apps, SLP portal, and related services (“Services”).

We may collect personal information including name, contact details, age, location, and account login credentials when you register or use our Services.
b. Health Information
We collect health-related data necessary for therapeutic use, including progress notes, therapy performance, and video or voice inputs during certain exercises. All health data is stored in accordance with HIPAA compliance standards.
c. Device & Technical Data
We may collect technical information such as device type, browser type, IP address, usage logs, and diagnostic data to improve functionality and security.

We collect anonymized usage data to understand how patients and clinicians interact with the platform, improve exercises, and train AI models.

Some Theranuvo exercises use your voice so the app can understand what you said and give therapeutic feedback.
What we collect. During speaking activities (for example, when you name a picture on screen, repeat a word, or practice a conversation), we collect your microphone audio and the text transcribed from that audio, along with exercise results used for scoring and clinician reports.
How we collect it. Audio is recorded on your device only when you use a speaking exercise and after you have allowed microphone access.
How we use it. We use this data to transcribe your speech, check your answer against the expected response, score the exercise, provide in-app feedback, and share progress with your clinician.
Who we share it with. To run these features, we send your voice recordings (and the resulting transcript) to OpenAI, a third-party AI service. We may also send this data to Groq as a backup AI service if OpenAI is unavailable. These providers process the data on our behalf so we can transcribe speech and evaluate responses. We do not sell this data.
Your permission. We will not send your voice to OpenAI or Groq until you tap Allow on the in-app consent screen. You can choose Don’t Allow. If you decline, you can still use parts of the app that do not require speaking, but voice exercises will not run until you allow sharing.
AI training. Theranuvo does not use your voice or other protected health information to train public AI models. Any product improvement uses only de-identified, anonymized data where permitted.
Third-party protection. We require these providers to protect the data they process for us under their contractual and legal obligations. You can review OpenAI’s and Groq’s privacy practices on their websites.
We implement encryption, access controls, and routine security audits. All health information is stored securely using HIPAA-compliant systems hosted in the cloud (e.g., AWS).

Theranuvo is not intended for direct use by children under 13. Parents or legal guardians must provide consent and oversee use of the platform.
